Media Intern

Job Description

As part of our 25th Anniversary programming this year, The Power Plant's Curatorial Department requires a Media Intern for the Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2012 seasons. The Media Intern would be responsible for:

• organizing and consolidating our archive of video documentation of past public programs including lectures and performances
• organizing and consolidating our archive of exhibition photography
• oreparing web-ready video and image files and uploading video, image and other multimedia content to our website

Reporting to the Curator & Head of Programs and the Assistant Curator, the Media Intern would also be involved in the public presentation of our archives that will take place in a temporary "archive hub" to be designed by German architect/artist Markus Miessen, open during our Spring and Summer 2012 seasons.

Requirements and Timeframe
Internships are unpaid and are open to anyone with a serious interest in contemporary art. Preference is given to applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree within the visual arts, art history or the humanities.

We require a minimum of 1-2 days per week for 3 months, during office hours of 9AM – 5PM. Each season has an opening for one person: Spring runs March to May, Summer from June to August, and Fall from September to November.
