What's in an Image?

This workshop draws inspiration from Leslie Hewitt’s lithographs, sourced from Civil Rights era photographs housed at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas. Participants will experiment with perspective by constructing paper viewfinders and then selecting photograph fragments from newspaper and magazine images and use their imaginations to create a new story. The fragments will then be transformed using mono-printmaking techniques into a larger visual narrative. At the end of the workshop, participants will share their work before taking their creations home.
