Robert Fones: Selected Works 1979-89

Curatored by Louise Dompierre, Robert Fones: Selected Work 1979–89 was on view from 5 May – 18 June, 1989. An archaeologist of the present, interested in contemporary artifacts and in the essence of humanity, Robert Fones has created a body of work which is as intellectually challenging as it is physically engaging, owing to the quality of its making. Sober and reserved, his art impresses with the depth of its insights into nature, culture and society. His work affirms the ongoing dialectic between the individual, the natural and the cultural, giving to none an absolute voice, but stressing the immanence of each within the others.

This 64-page softcover catalogue features images of Fones’s work.
