This publication examines the art produced during China's "Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution" and features essays by Scott Watson and Shengtian Zheng, a chronology of the events leading up to the GPCR and the its subsequent collapse following Mao Zedong's death in 1976, English translations of the political slogans of the time, and an annotated checklist of the 156 works in the exhibition (in English and Chinese).
