Cuttings accompanied Simon Starling's solo exhibition at Museum für Gegenwartskunt, Kunstmuseum Basel, in 2005. The publication showcases several recent works, including Shedboatshed (Mobile Architecture No. 2) (2005), Bird in Space (2004), Burn-Time (2000), Rescued Rhododendrons (1999), with explanatory descriptions of each work. Starling describes the process, the thought and the evolution of each of his works—each have a specific conceptual methodology behind them.
