Angela Bulloch: Prime Numbers

Curated by Reid Shier. Angela Bulloch's solo exhibition at The Power Plant on view from 24 June - 4 September, 2006 was the first comprehensive presentation of Angela Bulloch’s work in Canada. Taking inspiration from the minimalism of Dan Flavin, Donald Judd and Robert Smithson, Angela Bulloch's work moves in the direction of minimalism, but forms a new relationship between shape and media. Her Pixel Boxes—which are object, picture, light, colour, and sound—refer to our digital life where the distinction between image, text and sound collapse into one space.

This catalogue documents the exhibitions held at De Pont Foundation, Modern Art Oxford, Secession and The Power Plant, Toronto, with essays that trace the art historical and philosophical lineage that Bulloch references, while simultaneously linking her to artists of her generation.
