Film scholar Aboubakar Sanogo introduced this special screening of "Sankofa" at TIFF Bell Lightbox, part of the five-part retropsective of acclaimed filmmaker Haile Gerima. Following the screening, Gerima engaged in conversation with Cameron Bailey,TIFF Artistic Director & Co-Head. The two expanded on Gerima's extensive body of work as well as the future and importance of independent film.
