Imaginary Percussion Ensemble

The Imaginary Percussion Ensemble is a chameleon-like entity that grows and sheds limbs; changes colouration, shape and configuration; and otherwise adapts to the creative possibilities dreamed up by Germaine Liu, Joe Sorbara, and Mark Zurawinski, three creative percussionists who come together as often as they can to share in one another’s joyous and playful curiosity for sound-making. The ensemble’s music is rooted in a deep concern for gesture, for physicality, for tactility, for performance as visceral exploration and co-creation, as an ongoing process of (re)discovering ideas and vocabulary, always in the hope of creating an inviting and inclusive space for audience and participants.

Shaghayegh Bagheri + Kasra Faridi

Kasra Faridi is a Toronto-based composer and pianist working at the intersection of contemporary classical and electronic music. In addition to his work as a classical pianist, his practice engages non-Western musical systems alongside experimental approaches to notation, timbre, and form, including the use of unconventional notation, computational sound, and Csound programming. He is also active in interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of new approaches to musical structure and representation. Shaghayegh Bagheri is a singer, improviser, vocal coach, and poet whose work bridges classical music, contemporary vocal practices, and experimental performance. Known for her expressive depth and sensitivity to microtonality, she creates performances that intertwine storytelling, improvisation, and cross-cultural musical traditions. Through her multidisciplinary practice, she explores voice, identity, memory, and cultural exchange.

Colin Fisher + Kieran Adams

The ever-curious Colin Fisher has been a major presence in Canada's music community for more than twenty years—particularly in more experimental and improvisational circles. Nothing short of a guitar virtuoso, he also wields saxophone, drums, and various other instruments with similarly refined musicality, vivid textural imagination, and sometimes feral abandon. Kieran Adams is a composer, producer, and musician working in a broad range of musical settings. He has toured internationally as a session musician, and also released music and performed live under his own alias Vibrant Matter, a project where he pushes the boundaries of the rhythmic and textural components of dancefloor oriented music. A collaborator of a wide breadth of musicians, poets, filmmakers, and artists including Austra, US Girls, Fan Wu, Joseph Shabason, and Sara Cwynar, he aims to find new ways that music can accompany and interact with other mediums.

EGYPTRIXX

Colourful sound design is braided with club music architectures, creating an exhilarating tension - a shifting balance between melodic and dissonant, euphoric and inward. The debut album, 'Bible Eyes' was released in March of 2011 to critical acclaim. As EGYPTRIXX, Psutka has toured extensively having played at Sonar Festival, Roskilde, Berghain, Mutek, MOMA PS1 NYC, Osheaga and CTM Festival.
