The Power Plant

Exhibition Overview - Arctic/Amazon: Networks of Global Indigeneity

OCT 14 2022

The Arctic and the Amazon regions share many common traits: both have histories involving social, cultural, economic, and aesthetic entanglements, as well as touchpoints where Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures meet. The resulting contact zones are sites of adaptation, exploration and collaboration. Here, artists can strengthen and amplify each other’s voices in the chorus of global Indigeneity.

By connecting Indigenous artists from two distant regions, Arctic/Amazon: Networks of Global Indigeneity exhibition aims to create one special shared contact zone where diverse Indigenous worldviews and traditions meet.

Arctic/Amazon: Networks of Global Indigeneity is on view at The Power Plant from October 1 to December 31, 2022!
