Alexandra Gelis is a Colombian-Venezuelan media artist, curator and researcher. She is currently working towards a PhD in Environmental Studies. She conducts field research to better understand the ecologies of various landscapes and human-scapes, specifically examining the traces left by certain socio-political interventions. Through readings of environmental history in Latin America, Gelis explores collective memory, folklore, cinema, literature and cultural production. Gelis will discuss Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa’s exhibition Asymmetries.
