The Power Plant

Dr. Cheryl Thompson is an Assistant Professor, School of Creative Industries, Ryerson University. Her first book, Beauty in a Box: Detangling the Roots of Canada’s Black Beauty Culture will be published with Wilfrid Laurier Press (2019). Dr. Thompson was a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow (2016-2018) at the University of Toronto and the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). She has a PhD in Communication Studies from McGill University. Dr. Cheryl Thompson will discuss Alicia Henry's Witnessing.
