The Power Plant

Harrell Fletcher has worked collaboratively and individually on a variety of socially engaged, interdisciplinary projects for over a decade. Best known for Learning to Love You More, the participatory website he designed with Miranda July in 2002, Fletcher often bases his work around a task or assignment that participants fulfill according to their own interpretations. Fletcher was a participant in the Whitney Biennial, 2004. He is the 2005 recipient of the Alpert Award in Visual Arts. His current exhibition, The American War, originated in 2005 at ArtPace in San Antonio, and travelled extensively in 2006. Fletcher will be joined in conversation by artist and author Darren O’Donnell.
