Power Youth Artist-in-Residence and mural artist Jacqueline Comrie is a recipient of a 2017 Toronto Arts Council ArtStarts Platform A Micro Grant and creator of The Colour Wheel Project. Comrie transforms common indoor and outdoor areas into uplifting environments that alleviate the high level of anxiety experienced as a result of the social issues.
Drawing on the theme of “repair” in Kader Attia’s exhibition The Field of Emotions, Comrie will teach youth how to use colour to help with personal healing and to transform their clubhouse environments. Along with Comrie, participants will work together to paint an uplifting mural for their communities.
