A Landscape You Can Carry

What does it mean to get to know a landscape? Inspired by Sharon Lockhart’s WINDWARD, participants will explore landscapes through slow looking, drawing, and storytelling. We will experiment with long, continuous lines that record movement, distance, and changing perspectives. Participants will then transform their drawings into a simple crankie theatre, creating a scroll-like landscape that can be revealed gradually through movement. As the landscape unfolds, we will consider how drawing can be a way of travelling through a place.
