Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.
Each April, more than 100 participating institutions worldwide develop programs on the same Saturday that encourage visitors to look at art slowly, experience the work without an expert (or expertise), and make personal discoveries and connections. Though the Power Plant has previously offered this program in the galleries, we will Zoom this year!
TPP staff will select and show three specific artworks for 10 minutes of silent viewing of each. After this silent viewing, everyone who is logged on will be invited to engage in discussion about observations, insights, connections, memories, and more.
