On Sunday December 12 at 2PM, we invite you to our last Sunday Scene of 2021 with artist and educator Yael Brotman, who will be offering us her unique perspectives on the work of Miriam Cahn at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.

Within the gallery spaces, Yael will share her extensive research and understanding of Miriam Cahn's practice.

More on Yael Brotman

Yael Brotman is a Toronto-based artist a professor of art at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Her practice is rooted in drawing and printmaking that expanded into installation. Her work focuses on the idea of protection and the precarity of our constructed and psychic shelters. Brotman has held residencies across Canada and internationally, among them Haida Gwaii, Ireland, China. Recent exhibition sites include International Graphic Arts Triennial, Krakow, Poland; III International Triennial of Contemporary Graphic Art, Novosibirsk State Art Museum, Russia; Smokestack Gallery, Hamilton; Central Booking, New York; Centro Cultural Doctor Madrazo, Santander, Spain; Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt; and Project Space, Open Studio, Toronto. Brotman’s work is found in numerous public collections.
