DIY Camera Obscura
Sun Nov 05 2017
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The Power Plant
The camera is an important part of Sammy Baloji and Filip De Boeck’s exhibition. It has the ability to freeze time and create stories. In this workshop, we will explore the origins of cameras – as far back as ancient Greece – by constructing our own camera obscuras! Like Amalia Pica, we will follow schematic drawing plans and build our cameras using cardboard, lenses and mirrors. Through this program we will learn about the components of a camera and the basic techniques of photography.
