Dr. Laura Bisaillon is Assistant Professor of Health and Society at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She has carried out fieldwork in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iran and Romania. Her photo exhibit, titled What does Forced Immobility Look and Feel Like? Being Young and Defiant in Eritrea, was featured at the Yorkville Public Library in October 2019. Dr. Bisaillon will discuss Dawit Petros’ exhibition Spazio Disponibile.
This Sunday Scene will conclude with an Eritrean coffee pouring ceremony in the gallery's entrance, led by Natsenet Engdm Araya, and contextualized by filmmaker Feyrouz Abdulrahman.
