The Power Plant

Lee Walton: Life/Theater – The Harbourfront

Mon Sep 01 2008

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

In projects that aim to forge new relationships and experiences, Lee Walton’s work incorporates many media, from drawings and video to public projects and theatrical orchestrations. In 2007, he participated in On Being an Exhibition at New York’s Artists’ Space, where his street performance, Hillary Weidemann: Living Record, was witnessed only by the gallery manager. Described by Weidemann as “the most lovely and unexpected walk around New York that I have ever experienced,” the work existed only through her memory and oral accounts. Here Walton performs a series of unplanned actions on The Power Plant’s lakefront terrace, bringing his characteristic playful inventiveness to anything that he encounters, from people, to places, to objects.
