Manikins Come to Life!
Sun Jul 23 2017
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The Power Plant
The manikins in Ydessa Hendeles’ The Milliner’s Daughter appear as if they have been frozen in a tableau vivant – a living picture. After viewing and talking about the manikins in the exhibition, we will work in small groups – inspired by performance art – to invent a story, and design and make props from mixed media. Then, using our props, we will pose as living models in our own tableaux vivants. Each group will be photographed in one (or more) pose(s), and we will share those pictures with you!
