The Power Plant

Poetry & Storytelling with Britta Badour

Wed Jan 13 2016

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Toronto Kiwianis Boys and Girls Club in Regent Park

Power Youth Artist-in-Residence, Britta Badour mentors the Power Youth of Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club through meaningful and artistic engagement with an emphasis on community collaboration. Her program Propel is a series of workshops that engage youth to explore themes of internal and external identities. Through creative and reflective exercises, writing activities and freestyle storytelling, Power Youth workshops teach youth how to construct poems about their personal outlook on life and the communities to which they belong. Youth will gain courage in personal storytelling and learn what “propels” their connection to their community.
