Drawing the Journey of Water
Inspired by Owner of a Lonely Heart film program and it’s focus on journeys of raw materials through waterways, participants will investigate how water connects places and carries traces of what if encounters. Using Lake Ontario as our starting point, we’ll follow an imagined journey from rain and melting snow through streets, storm drains, rivers, and finally into the lake. Participants will experiment with watercolour, ink and salt, and create flowing, layered paintings that map these journeys. We’ll consider what water might carry with it and how something from one place can travel, transform, and become part of another.
