The Power Plant

Power Youth

Power Youth connects youth ages 12 to 17 in priority neighbourhoods in Toronto with Artists-in-Residence.

Since 2014, Power Youth connects youth ages 12 to 17 in priority neighbourhoods in Toronto with Artists-in-Residence.

This free program aims to provide participants with new tools for self-expression and the opportunity to gain skills in creativity, communication and collaboration. By connecting artists with diverse youth in meaningful engagement, we strive to enrich the lives of our community members and extend cultural understanding beyond the gallery walls.

Over the course of the program, participants visit The Power Plant for a guided tour, create their own works of art, and showcase their creativity at an annual exhibition.

Power Youth takes place in the following partner sites: St. Alban’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Weston-Mount Dennis, Humber Clubhouse; St. Alban’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Lawrence Heights, Neptune Clubhouse; and Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs, Spruce Clubhouse and TP Loblaw Clubhouse at St. Mary Catholic School.
